Yet another fine example of our bags finding a place of refuge. The religious organizations in our city are some of the most helpful and charitable organizations that we have - we'd be lost without the work that they do. Sacred Heart is no exception - from their senior programs to their housing of our migrant bags in trees, this Church is a cherished part of our community.

With as cold as it's been this winter, these bags appear that they feel like the rest of us in Baltimore feel - cold and exposed. No matter how much we bundled and no matter how fast we walked, it was painful out there. This pair seem to be hanging on, but they look as cold as their fellow Baltimore neighbors have been lately. Let's hope this nice weather sticks around for awhile and we can all warm up.

These are hard times, but many still find solace in faith. BIT has faith that this bag will stay put for a long time in front of Bishop John Neuman's School on Foster St. These trees and buildings have often been a haven for bags gone astray, and the staff at BIT will continue to look to the Bishop for examples of bags caught in the safe arms of love.

This house has showcased bags in trees multiple times over the years. I guess these branches are ideal for bag parties. I am especially impressed with the white lady seen in this first photo - gorgeous! We can only hope that she stays around for awhile. She is a sight to behold and completely untouchable. We've had a few cold and breezy days here in Charm City lately, and I feel that this has only helped our BIT cause. Even though it's still cold on this day, it was only near freezing... much better than the last week or so. This neighborly neighbor looks to be on neighborhood watch. Quietly watching over Brewer's Hill, he's looking out for potential danger. Thanks, man.

I could hardly believe my luck when I turned onto Fait Ave on this day. Bags, bags everywhere! There were so many, in fact, that I thought it more appropriate to post them as a group rather than individually - they deserve group credit. Covering multiple colors and styles, these bags are as multi-cultural as our fine city - a true representation of Baltimore's melting pot.

We know the staff at Bags in Trees has been MIA lately, but one of us got married (not this one) and one of us can't find any spare time (that's me). Our apologies. We (I) can't promise regularity, but we're (I'm) up for trying to keep this site going as much as possible. Submissions not only welcome, but needed.

This low-flying lady is hanging out near one of Canton's main thruways - Conkling Avenue. Hidden behind a street sign, she was a lucky find. And we're glad to give her her few minutes in the ~~sun~~ limelight.

What a lovely day! This girl was found high up in the trees in the heart of Canton's remodeling district. Could she be a worker's lunch bag? Or a school child's gym clothes bag? I suppose we'll never really know. But what we do know is that this bag is an important contributor to the success and future of this fine neighborhood. Even discarded it continues to be useful and beautiful.

You've gotta love a bag that knows how to pay it forward.

Speaking of architecture - wow! What a beautiful backdrop for another striking bag in tree! And this bag was not only in public view, but it was located outside of one of Baltimore's esteemed schools, educating our city's children about beauty and the urban landscape everytime they enter and exit.

The day this photo was taken was a breezy one - I'm curious how long this little bag lasted before being blown on to another location. If your commute takes you near Dunbar High, take a look.

Looking for our precious bags keeps our heads up and our eyes in the trees for the beautiful images that we share with you here. How pretty! A yellow bag! I can think of the dozen or so retailers that this didn't come from, but who carries yellow bags? This lovely lady seems to be showing off her billowing bagginess while twirling and twisting in this tree. How daringly flirty of her. And.... we're BACK! (How often have I said that?) I have a backlog of about ten BIT photos that I haven't posted but have in blogger drafts. Before Bags In Trees brings you images of Baltimore Bags in the Springtime, I am going to get back on track with these archived photos if that's okay with the BIT readers.

So to start us off we have twin bags in twin trees on Patterson Park Ave. Crisp and white, these bags couldn't have been here very long when I spotted them. Only about two or three blocks from their likely source - the Royal Farms on Fleet Street - they haven't had the proper tour around Charm City that many of our bags have apparently seen. If anyone can testify that these bags are still in this location, please let us know!

How dreary! This is not one of Charm City's finer days, but it's important to note that every day should be a bag-looking day. This little lady was found snapping and shifting in gusts of wind on a dark and wet day in Baltimore. I was probably a little wet and cold venturing out to take this photo, but even in her bleakness, this bag was worth capturing on film.

So what is the lesson, here? Sacrifices must be made for BIT. Period.

What on Earth would we do without blue Safeway bags in Canton? Although tightly wound around these branches by the wind, this bag has still kept most of its billowing glory. This winter in Baltimore has been relatively mild, so many of our bags are as beautiful as they day they landed.

Clung to a branch like a child at play, this Royal Farms bag appears as comfortable as ever. In the city we rarely see children climbing trees or doing things that kids with lots of land to frolic do, so at least we have our bags in trees to entertain us.

A recent drive around our grand city turned up many of the bags that were feared lost this summer. As expected, the lost leaves all over Baltimore are not only revealing some hidden treasures for BIT fans, but also creating quite the trap for many an airborne bag.

Today on BIT we have a two-for-one special. These bags were a bonus find in the heart of Canton. The bag above seems like a new neighbor on the block - it is billowing in the breeze and mostly in tact - whereas the bag below appears to be a long term resident. What a glorious visual paradox!
